Reading Blog

Shea McCusker (Year 5): Today (28th November), I read a bit of Monty Roberts ~ The Man Who Listens To Horses. This book is about the best horse trainer in the world! I have loved him since I first knew about him. I have watched a lot of videos of him training a horse in a round pen. He was born in America and is 86 years old. He has been the best horse trainer for as long as he can remember. He first learnt to listen to horses while observing wild mustangs in Nevada, at the age of 13. The book is very well written. It covers all areas of his life. I highly recommend it.

Birthday Boy by David Baddiel

Anoushka Gurung (Year 6): I really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it to beginner readers. It all started when Sam had an amazing birthday and saw a falling star. Sam wished it was his birthday every day. His wish came true and his birthday repeated the next day and the next and the next. A year passed and Sam became lazy, overweight and ungrateful. His sister, Ruby, was jealous but wanted her brother back. Due to having to buy lots of birthday presents, Sam’s family was suffering as they weren’t rich. When Sam’s grandpa went missing and all anyone cared about was his birthday, Sam knew he had to travel to the island where the star fell and reverse his wish.
