Welcome To The Hawks Class ~ Year 5 

I’m Mr Oakes and this is my 8^th year in my career as a class teacher. I am the lead for Music, RE and Spirituality in school as well as overseeing Collective Worship; these are areas that I am extremely passionate about. Additionally, I manage the Y5 and Y6 football team coach and am a staff governor for the Ignite federation. I am also a musician and instrument teacher in my spare time. One of my main interests is football. I am a huge fan of my hometown team, Crystal Palace. 🔴🔵

This is a very exciting year group and all the children will certainly thrive this year. I am very excited for this year and can’t wait to dive deeper into our learning with a fantastic group of children.

Class Dojo 

We communicate with parents regularly through the Class Story on Class Dojo as we think it is an invaluable way of helping parents to stay informed of what is happening with their children on a day to day basis in school. We also upload children’s work to their Personal Portfolio pages so that they can talk about what they have been doing with their families. Parents and children can also upload things that they have done at home to share with me.  I use the Class Dojo messaging service and am happy to answer simple queries through this, during office hours.
