It is with great pleasure I write about the role of the governing body of the school on our new website.

In this section you will find information about what governors have been doing with the school leadership in order to ensure your child has the best possible education.

Our core functions are:

* to ensure there is clear vision, strong ethos and a strategic direction

* to hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, as well as the performance management of the staff

* to oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure the money is well spent.

In order to do this the governing body has one subcommittee:

Finance and Staffing

This subcommittee meets five times a year about a week before a full governing body meeting.

In addition to this the governor's regularly visit the school and scrutinise a wide variety of activities and learning. These are then reported formally to the full governing body.

The full governing body is made up of:

2 Foundation Governors appointed by the Anglican Church

2 Parent Governors

1Local Authority Governor

1 Staff Governor

The Head teacher

3 Co-opted Governors

This Spring Term 2017 governors are focussing on:  Finance and setting the budget for the new year, evaluating the school raising attainment plan and monitoring key areas such as safeguarding and English.
