Through targeted use of the sports grant we aim to encourage all children to take part in physical activity. Since we have invested this money the impact has been great:
Participation in physical activity and sports has increased. The school now offers a wide range of after school sports clubs that include; gymnastics, dance, multi sports, football, hockey, badminton as well as lunchtime football. All after school sports club are at maximum numbers: 20 children.
Children have developed their values and attitudes alongside physical skills and fitness and this is being developed further through competitive games.
Children have been able to access different sports and activities, such as bike ability that they hadn’t had the chance to do before. As one mum said, “for the first time after being on bikes at school, her daughter rode her bike home.”
Children have developed a high level of confidence, cooperation, enthusiasm and determination as well as a competitive edge.
Children are developing their own leadership potential and responsibility as play leaders.
Additional resources have been purchased and will continue to be so lessons are supported as well as after school activities.
There has been access to some sports children have never experienced before such as Yoga and Taekwondo.
